Life in Africa Blog Post Credit: Jueun Côte d’Ivoire Image Credit: Wikimedia Commons Côte d’Ivoire (coat-deh-vwah) also known as Ivory Coast is a country in the western part of Africa, as shown in red on the map above. It is a very nice country with a lot of attractions, like relaxing in the beach, marvel at the lights of Abidjan, watch people dance with stilts on, walk to a waterfall, and taking a hike. They have a lot of natural resources, but according to Africaw they are still one of the poorest country with a 50% of the population under the poverty line.
Only 38.6% of women in Ivory Coast that are above the age of 15 can read or write. About 500,000 people are living with HIV or AIDS with about 400,000 deaths recorded each year. It also remains the malaria-killing zone in Africa. The malaria continues to kill people there today. Typhoid fever, bacterial and protozoal diarrhea and other diseases or severe sicknesses threaten to kill people in Ivory Coast today. Ivory Coast forest’s was West Africa’s largest forest. But due to deforestation and overpopulation, most of the trees have been destroyed. Also, most water in Ivory Coast is polluted because of sewage, agricultural and industrial effluents. Corruption levels remain high in Côte d’Ivoire. Poor governance, incompetent leadership, mismanagement of funds and much more continue to destroy Côte d’Ivoire. Despite all the problems in Ivory Coast, I still believe and hope that not all places in Côte d’Ivoire are like this. I hope that there are still places in Côte d’Ivoire where tourist can relax and have fun. Why do I hope for this? Because I like Côte d’Ivoire, why do you think I chose this country? What do you think? Do you know anyway on how to help Ivory Coast? Tell me in the comments below! Resource Credit: Africaw

Organizing a PartyBlog Post Credit: Alicia Picture Credit: Pixabay I have chosen to answer Alicia’s three questions.
My ideal party would be a nice beach party where the water is clear and we could go snorkeling all together. Then we could play around in the water. Possibly surprise each other with water attacks from behind (water attacks – splash water at another person). If it’s not a beach party then maybe a nice pool party. Anything related to water because I just like giving water attacks to others. I never really play “traditional” games but when it comes to birthday parties in my school, we just find a Just Dance video and try dancing to it and see who is the best at it. We also eat pizza or cake, sometimes both! The thing I want to bring the most to a party? Well it really depends what kind of party is it. If it is a beach or pool party, I will most definitely bring beach balls and a few pairs of ping-pong sticks with the balls to play in the water or on land itself. If it were a birthday party I would bring cake, pizza, and probably prepare a game for everyone. Just so you know, I don’t do birthday parties anymore. So that’s all three questions answered! What is your favorite kind of party?

and I made a poster using 'Canva' application! My Ideal School Image Created by me using Paint X Lite My ideal school would be a place where I can learn in a different way than most schools. My ideal school will not have classrooms for each grade. Instead, you'll have to move around from class to class when your subject changes.
It will also have a student dormitory where students can sleep, study, do their homework, and be able to get to school early! So it won't matter if you wake up at 7:00 in the morning because all you'll have to do is shower, wear clothes, and grab your bag. You’ll only be late if you wake up at 8:00 in the morning because that’s when my ideal school will start. It would have a nice and big swimming pool where everyone would learn how to swim or do tricks. Or if you would want, you would just relax there on weekends. There would be a playground with things everyone of any age will be able to play in, and a soccer/football field for those who like playing soccer/football (as in American football). And if you’re thinking, “Wait one field for two things?” then be happy to know that the field will be big and that it will be split in half. There will also be a bicycle park for those who stay in the student dormitories. In the picture the dormitory looks really close. It’s close but not that close as shown, which means you're going to need a bike to come to school and a place to park your bike. If you look back at the picture you can see that the library, music, and art classes are in another building. Why is that? Well it’s because I like schools that have different buildings for different subjects. That’s my ideal school! Tell me a bit about yours in the comments below. “I Can Change The World With My Own Two Hands” |
