I Am Part of a Prophecy…SplendidDo you think I'm going to be any average teen? Well, let me ask you. Did your mom die because of a monster attack when you were only eight years old? Did you have to run away from mom killing monsters and live on the streets for…seven years? Yeah! So did you have to run away from monsters and live on the streets for seven years? No? Well I do! Not your average everyday girl now am I? So anyways, my name is Lexi, and my friend’s name is Jay. I was fourteen then...sitting on the sidewalk, wind blowimng my dirty blonde hair in every direction. Jay sitting next to me said my eyes looked as if there was a storm hurtling through them. Jay just sat there not having to worry that his short, brown hair getting in his face. His eyes were just blue and blank. We had just run away from two monsters, an empousa and a giant. The giant was about 20 feet tall just so you know. “I hope we lost them. We need to get to camp now Lexi.” Jay said. “Ya, let’s go. We should hurry though. It looks like it’s close to noon. You said the camp becomes impossible to enter after sundown right?” I asked hoping he would hurry up and answer. He just nodded, so I took my backpack and got up. Jay got up and then started running. I chased after him, wondering if we would make it in time and reach camp. How’d you meet Jay, Lexi? Well, he just showed up when the empousa and giant showed up. It seemed sketchy, monsters appear and then Jay appears at about the same time. Jay turned a corner, and turned another corner. I followed, wondering if I was actually running into a trap. Jay just suddenly stopped and I slowed down. “Where is it?” I asked him. “It’s right here.” He took out a key and unlocked a door that was next to us. He opened it and I was amazed at what I saw. Grassy hills going on forever. I was amazed. It was a beautiful sight. I thought no one lived there. Then when I looked again, centaurs, satyrs, nymphs, and all sorts of Greek creatures lived there. “This place is amazing! Where’s the camp though?” I looked all over the clearing. “Did we get here too late? No!” “Ah, stop being such a whiner! The camp is hidden among the hills. C’mon!” Jay raced up a hill without waiting for me. I chased after Jay and I rolled downhill. It was fun. After a while I saw a tree. In fact, it was the only tree in the clearing. Jay ran towards the tree and disappeared as he entered some sort of invisible barrier. I ran through it and felt energy surging through my body. “Welcome to Camp Mythology! My name is Philip; in Greek it means ‘Lover of Horses’. Please help yourself to some Burgers!” The dude scared me because he just popped out of nowhere, but I just stared at Philip. You’re probably thinking, “Lexi, don’t stare! That’s rude!” But Philip was a centaur! No wonder why he liked horses. “Uh…thanks…” I just looked around wide-eyed. I couldn’t believe that other people like me surrounded me. Suddenly I wasn’t the one looking shocked. Everyone just stared above my head. I asked what they were looking at. They just pointed up. I looked up and saw a glowing trident above my head just floating there. “A child of Poseidon, impossible! Yet…amazing at the same time. Yes…I understand the prophecy now!” Philip just smiled as if he was crazy. “Um, what prophecy?” I just backed up and turned around and around going in circles. “The Prophecy! Here I’ll recite it for you: The child of water shall choose to obliterate or to restore the one who keeps this world in one. She shall sail the seas and find the key. Three will come, one will vanish, and another shall perish. Only two shall survive. If she perishes from oblivion, the world shall rip apart, and fall to the command of Mother Earth. If she survives, she shall fulfill her destiny and put Mother Earth to sleep once again.” As soon as Philip finished speaking, monsters tried raiding the camp. An alarm sounded and everyone armored up and took weapons. The prophecy has started. And I, Lexi Irene, is not prepared… What’s going to happen to Lexi? Will she fulfill her destiny? Lexi: Wait…we’re ending it here? What? No wait there’s more to wri....... Please finish the story in the comment section below.
