An Imaginary Tour Guide to Alagaësia Credit: Pixabay Hello and welcome to Alagaësia (al-uh-GAY-zee-uh), home of elves, dragons, dwarves, and Urgals. Also home to Dragon Riders and the extinct Ra'Zacs! Lets have a quick lesson before continuing. When you meet an elf, press fingers on your lips and say, “Atra esterní ono thelduin”. Keep your fingers on your lips until they answer with the same gesture. They shall say, “Mor’ranr lífa unin hjarta onr”. You speak first for you are tourists and the elves are more than locals. Well let’s get started quickly or we’ll miss the bus to Du Weldenvarden!
We’re here! Everyone out! Look at the beautiful expanse of trees! If you look closely you will see that some trees are carved out to make houses. Elves use magic to make their homes. Queen Islanzandí should be here soon! There she is with other elves! Look at how fast they move! The elves here are faster and stronger. They can live forever when they avoid danger, and they can still look like they’re in their twenties. The elves are very beautiful and handsome. And they don’t really trust outsiders, so focus on one specific thing if you don’t want them to scavenge your memory. I believe the great legend Eragon is here, is he not? No? He went off for a flight with Saphira. Ok then. Shall we continue the tour? Come on! Next stop is Urû’ Baen (OO-roo-bane), but be very careful for Galbatorix still rules over Urû’ Baen. Here we are! welcome to Urû’ Baen! Big place. Is it? Here lies Galbatorix’s palace. As you can see there are plenty of tall buildings. Here, the currency is called Crowns, which are just a bunch of coins. If you don’t have Crowns people here trade things for other things. If we go further in and closer to the palace, you will see that the wealthiest people live near the palace. There is one more place left and that’s Farthen Dûr! The home of the Varden and the Dwarves! Shall we go? Here we are at the Beor Mountains, the tallest mountains in all of Alagaësia! The Beartooth River flows through this valley and as you can see there is a waterfall. Please look at the waterfall while I call the dwarfs and the Varden…. ok shall we go through this big tunnel? Do you see all the other tunnels? They lead to the other entrances leading toward Farthen Dûr. We’ve arrived! Look at this! It’s like an underground village… well basically it is. The dwarfs are very nice and good at architecture. The Isidar Mithrim is the best thing that the dwarves built. The torches on the walls are elven torches with fire that will never burn out. Anyways we should get back up…. Before…. uh…. the dwarfs like drinking so…. yeah…. lets go. Well that’s all for The Alagaësia Tour for today! See you next time! Please rate us and review us! Bye!
