An Imaginary Interview With Eragon from Brisingr by Christopher Paolin Credit: Pixabay Kait: Hello and welcome to “Today’s News”! I’m Kait, your reporter for the day. Today I’m going to interview a legend! And his name is Eragon Shadeslayer, son of none! Please, can we all give a round of applause to the greatest Dragon Rider in the world! Welcome Eragon Shadeslayer! How is it being here, away from Alagaësia and Saphira? Is it heartbreaking? Is it hard to be away from Saphira?
Eragon: Aye, it is hard. I’ve known Saphira for a while now, and she has basically become a part of me. So whenever I’m away from her, I feel as if I lost a part of myself….a big part of myself. Kait: Well then let’s hurry this interview up so you can be reunited with her soon, and you won’t have to feel sad. Anyways, here’s the next question. What’s it like being a Dragon Rider? Having all those responsibilities, promises, and learning magic all at once is stressful, isn’t it? Eragon: Aye, you’re correct Kait. It is stressful, but you do get used to it after a while. Plus I have Saphira to help me with this stuff. Sometimes I just promise things without noticing, and when Saphira reminds me, I get angry with myself. Kait: Two more questions Eragon Shur’tugal. How are Roran, and his wife, Katrina? Eragon: They’re doing fine, although Katrina is worried that Roran will soon kill himself if he keeps going off, chasing Galbatorix’s troops. Roran says that he’s doing it for her, and when I see them together, Roran is always trying to convince Katrina that he’ll be fine. But, other than that they’re perfectly fine. Kait: That’s good to hear. Last question, how’s your training? Have you been scolded by your teacher a lot? I’m not asking you to share your lessons with us. I’m just wondering if it’s going good or bad. Eragon: My training has been…hard. The Ancient Language is hard and complex, and extremely hard to pronounce properly. Every time I get caught up in fights and use magic, I get scared that I might pronounce something wrong and end up dead. Thankfully I rarely mispronounce words. Kait: Well, that’s all the questions. Thank you Eragon Shadeslayer, Son of None, for sparing time to come and talk with us. It’s been an honor. Atra esterní ono thelduin, Eragon Shur’tugal. Eragon: Atra du evarínya ono varda, Kait.
